You did this...

..WITH YOUR HANDS? sublime, when I first set my eyes on this piece, it reminded me of an illustration of a futuristic city, it was a great work of art, but it was done in the computer, and when I read that 200+ hours of your time were devoted to create this, I had an epiphany, this is REAL art, computer programs often solve many of the problems an artist comes across along the way, but to think, the amount of experience needed to do this , the story behind each flick of the wrist......

AssKiller responds:

Thanks a lot for the comments ! No doubt I love digital painting but doing stuff traditionnaly is so much more fun and satisfying.

nice pose

the drawing itself isn´t much too polished but the pose I bet was a hazzle to get right, but, is it landing or is it about to leap?

Dawn-Breaker responds:

Well it soort of just landed and made a crater due to the impact.. and climbs out of it :D.

And you're right.. it's not exactly finished as it usually should but I was satisfied with the results somehow.

thanks for the review!

wow that is so damn cool!

did you do it with a ball-point pen? if so high five man that´s really neat!
if not... well it wouldn´t dissapiont since you got the hand that´s holding the hat so well.

:)

Dawn-Breaker responds:

Actually I have yes ,and I work best with those kind of pens.

I only added some color saturations in photoshop though :p I can send you the original one if you want.. but its pretty much the same

Thanks for the kind words! and yeah I was glad that hand worked out in one attempt xD

yeah

I really enjoyed the bizarre felling this brought to me...

Also, what program did you use?

Dawn-Breaker responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

And I did all of the editting and coloring in Photoshop CS3

wow

I love the motion in this piece, the light´s colors and the blood fit each other perfectly, they remind me of bubblegum crisis.
will these new flash series of yours hit newgrounds?

ps. check out my art plz :P it´s on this site , thank you.

ZachsAnomaly responds:

Nice art! And, thank you! The series actually will hit Newgrounds if I'm up to it. I'm a LITTLE iffy. But seeing some of my favourite flash series also posted on here, I'm starting to think it might be a good idea. Love the copyright feature, without it, I'd answer a definite no but right now everything's good to go!

all feely!

wow your work is pretty solid, the combinaiton of colors you decided to use is so cool, and the texture feels all wrinkly, which reminds me of an artist named Skinner, maybe you´ve heard of him?

nonetheless, your work speaks for itself, I liked it very much.

Rutger responds:

Yeah, Skinner is awesome. Thanks man!

Whew....

If I had but one wish, it would be to make this girl real and marry her....I suppose I would have to learn some quick japanese, though.

Seriously dude, every curve and sharp turn in this piece are just so well placed, it feels as if though everything is where it should be, I try not to put too many things in my favorites folder, but this one is ever so delectable.

BizarroJoe responds:

Good Lord, I'm feeling really flattered... Thank you very much for your kind words...
But I don't think you need any japanese at all. Anyway, it would come up handy.

Good job!

This goes to my favorites folder, although not the most original piece,
the expression on death's face is one of boredom rather than relief for taking a day off , but it fits the painting very well,so well in fact that one may think that she enjoys reaping souls, the smoke on the table is a priceless detail.

The sober selection of colors and some details like the plant in the right and the painting behind the couch are curious, may I ask what they mean?

The only thing that could have dropped you to 7 is that I find your other endeavors a tad more polished, maybe you did this one in a hurry? but the theme is so delicious that you earned the 8, I congratulate you for being so talented.

LaserKarl responds:

Thank you! :D

I didnt mean to make anything cliché, I actually never thought i did, I have at least never seen an image like this.. Sorry for not being original?

I actually made this image thinking not that he took the day off, but simply that no one died that day, so he got bored since he didnt have anything to do. Therefore the 'face' I guess. But i guess you could see it both ways. Not that I really tried to give him any destinct expression, its just a skull, I think the expression lies in his posture.

The colors and objects are just chosen to fit a composition giving the enivorment the right feeling, theres no other deeper "meaning" behind them. :)

I don't like the polished look really, i never quite understood it. I think great detailing was important the days before the camera. I personaly like images that are "loosely" painted over the detailed ones, it gives more for the viewers mind to work with i think. Also, working with less defined areas really makes the defined ones pop out!

Im thankful for the review!

I don´t mean to be harsh but......

I will not give you a 0 because you tried, other than that it is a plain drawing.

TheStudious13th responds:

Uh, Hello? its a sketch. I EXPECT people not to like it.

Love the Surrealistic Disease.

I have been following your work for some time, and it is very impressive, I want to ask you one question:

What drives you to do this? seriously, it is original and very well done.

Catoblepas responds:

WHAT THE FUCK does that mean? "what drives me to do this?"

What the fuck am I supposed to be answering to that one? There is no sensible ansewr!

No time for the old in-out, love, I've just come to read the meter.
